Now she's grown onto the name Mei Linh. AGE: 15 GENDER: Female SEXUALITY: Heterosexual... You perverts. NATIONALITY: Born in Beijing, China, somewhat raised in Taipei, Taiwan, adopted in China, moved to England. Her citizenship is in England. So she's technically English. PERSONALITY INFORMATION POSITIVE: - Optimistic: This girl doesn't like backing down. This girl won't back down. It's hard to dishearten her. She has this spunky "I'm doing this and you aren't going to stop me!" attitude to her. She's been put down quite a few times, but she always comes back up a tad bit stronger. - Passionate: She's an emotional, passionate person who takes everything to heart. She's fully determined to get where she wants, and it's hard to slam the breaks on her once you have her started. She takes her emotions with great intensity. She's a loose canon. With loved ones, she love them with the passionate heat of 1000 suns. - Sweetness: Even if she's a bit sassy and stubborn, she's still very sweet and kind. She will only be rude to you if you're rude to her. She likes reciprocating kindness. It's only natural. - Cultured: She doesn't take mediocre, she loves being cultured! She is very open-minded (though closed-minded on certain things) and isn't afraid to try new things. - Understanding: She seems to understand people very, very easily. She can pretty much pick out why you are feeling a certain way or figure out that you're hiding a feeling. Probably because she likes hiding her feelings. - Curious: She likes learning about the world around her. And she admits she's a bit nosy. - Independent: She's an independent woman that don't need no man and intends to stay that way. She hates it when she's being subjugated by someone, and she will fight for her own independence. She can stand alone, it's not like she's an extrovert. - Ambitious: She's highly ambitious and will definitely go for what she wants and believes is hers. She can work relentlessly without break if she truly wants something. She just seems lazy... if she doesn't want it. NEGATIVE: - Stubborn: She is just plain bull-headed when it comes to a lot of things. It's her way or the highway. And if you choose the highway, she'll make sure you get hit by a giant truck. - Jealous: She will resent and be jealous and bitter of her enemies quite easily. It's a bit easy to get her started on jealousy. She can easily get jealous of anyone unless they prove themselves worthy of her trust. - Worrisome: Besides the "I can do anything!" attitude, it comes with the worrisome effect of "What if I can't do this, what if I fail, what if I'm looked down upon, what if I..." Well yeah, that's natural and it happens more nowadays because of the positions she has risen to. When you have so much to lose, you can't help but become worrisome. - Guarded: She can be a bit distant. She never reveals everything about herself, usually hiding it behind a smile. She never reveals her full agenda. Nor does she reveal all her emotion. Even if she can be jealous, she doesn't show it. She lets it seathe. - Control: She has the need to be in control for some reason all the time. She hates the feeling of losing control, of not being able to do much about anything. She needs the ability to do all she can. She needs to be able to have the power to do more, apparently. - Short-Tempered: She tries not to, but this is the emotion she can't keep under reigns. When she's angry, she's scary. But she's not scary as some people in her family. Her weapons are mostly her words and occasionally a projectile she is holding or her fists themselves. - Competitive: She's a bit too competitive. She is extremely fierce and ruthless about competition and seems to get serious about winning a bit too easily. She can win any argument she puts her mind into. - Ambitious: Didn't I put this as good? It can go bad too. She'll go to any lengths to get what she wants, even if that requires hurting someone in the process. She'll feel guilty after. The ends justify the means. LIKES: - Fashion: She loves designing fashion and just being fashionable in general. No sweat pants for this girly! - Cooking: Because she can. Most dishes she makes are from home, though she has the capability of cooking things from other places. She likes experimenting in making her own dishes, thought hey don't always come out good. - Brother: She loves her brother, even if he can be a piece of derp and un-understanding. She knows that he does try, that he isn't as secluded as he makes himself out to be. She just doesn't say anything. - "Kawaii" Culture: She's a sucker for Hello Kitty, kay? Don't judge her! - Boys: Mostly gossiping about them. You have to admit those K-POP stars are hot, kay? She does have crushes, she just doesn't act on them. - Sunlight: She's a flower child. She loves the sun and its warmth and running around outside. Sunlight's just beautiful and inspiring... just as long as it isn't frying. - Art: She loves drawing and is an expert at Photoshop. It really helps that she loves designing fashion. Art makes everything better. - Asian Dramas: "Ching Ching, I love you!" Oh dear, she is a sucker for Asian dramas as much as many girls want to bear children for One Direction. - Flowers: She loves such botany. She loves flowers, gardening and tending to them, and wearing them. She loves the scent and just how fragile they are. - Independence: She loves being f r e e. She hates being the princess locked in the tower. She wants to be the badass knight that fights the dragon. DISLIKES: - Rudeness: She only is rude when she needs to retaliate. But she loves manners. Purposeful rudeness just irks her. - Being Touched: She doesn't like it, you perverts. She doesn't need help getting off the ground, she can flipping go back go flying if she felt like it. - Perverts: Back. Off. She will not accept groping and French kissing. She may enjoy watching Asian dramas and all that, but she doesn't like real-life perverts. - Being Proven Wrong: Her word is word. Stop proving her wrong, even if she is wrong. - Bad Food: She will flipping try to correct your cooking abilities if you can't cook. She will try super duper hard to punch some sense into the cook, and then teach the cook how to cook, even if that's impossible. - Being Controlled: She absolutely hates that. Don't even try. It's like trying to keep a bullet from flying. You'll only get shot. - When she is called Chinese: HECK. NO. Taiwanese, Taiwanese. Get it? If you don't get it, you have to be schooled again. - People Recording over her Asian Dramas: No. If you are going to record, record on a different TV. This cable box is reserved for watching Boys Over Flowers. OTHER INFORMATION HISTORY: Mei Linh Wang's legal name was changed to Maysilee Wang after the divorce, but she has long clung to her originally Asian culture, even as she continued trying to fit in at her home in London, England. Now why would our Taiwanese heroine be in England? Let's take a look at history, shall we?Mei Linh Wang was extremely young at the time of the divorce, which probably saved her from quite a bit of trouble. If her father hadn't been clear-minded and was slowly progressing out of his wild child years that involved drinking and dellusions, she probably would have been stuck with the shitty times that her other siblings had faced. Once upon a time, a pair of twins were born July night. Sadly, their fate wasn't going to be a happy one. Their birth mother loved them very much, but with all fairytales, the mother always dies. She died because of the poor health care, and so their birth father was only left with the strength to sign their birth certificates, name them, and put them in a box. The depressed man wrapped the box and gave them two necklace haves. One was the Ying sign and Yang sign, with parts of the family name character carved in the back. The necklaces were connectable and would form one Ying-Yang sign, the family name matching up. Then they were left for the mercy of terrible Chinese childcare. Chinese childcare just isn't very organized. They were separated at one point because of overcrowding at the Beijing orphanage, Li Xiao being sent to an orphanage in Hong Kong, and Mei Linh being sent to an orphanage in Taiwan, where they were raised shortly. Given that it is a foarmative period, this is where Mei Linh became more and more accostomed to calling herself Taiwanese and developing her identity. However, because of overcrowding, she was sent to an orphanage in Macau, where coincidentally, she would find her twin, who had run away and was being chased by the social workers. It was phenomenal just how far a child would run from his oppressors. She had seen the child running on the street, when she decided to share her pork bun with him. After all, she had been lucky to be in a more prosperous orphanage because of just how fancy Macau really is. He accepted, and they sat by the casino, eating their pork bun halves, when she noticed he had a matching necklace. Believing in the little fairytales, she would later defend her brother by saying "He's my brother!" and the legal mess would end up sorted and they would be in Macau until they turned 5. At 5 years old, they were adopted into a messy, messy household. Things were good at first, the English father and the Chinese mother a seemingly happy couple who had their fair share of sexy nights. But when the twins entered the household, it was terrible. The mother had grown too addicted to opium, the children in the house trying hard to make a living and put food on the table themselves. The father had soon decided "Screw this, I am divorcing your sorry arse, and I'm taking these twins away so they could at least live a better childhood than you've given these children. They're tainted enough and will be fucking opium addicts like you, and I can't take this anymore." And so comes their English citizenship. The father was then accepted by his rich Londonite mother, and the twins would have a good time with their grandparents, their father slowly trying to acquire a law career again. She would be forced to have her legal name be changed to Maysilee, though she kept "Mei Linh" in order to spite her father because he was her first controlling person in her life. He had more trouble dealing with her brother because of his rebellion developing through oppresive Chinese orphanages. With her strict, yet loving grandmother had showed her a more feminine side to things, making her take up a hobby like painting and giving her dress-up dolls to distract her from the terrible things that happened at opium slaughterhouse five. That's where she started acquiring an interest in fashion, given that she had shown a natural affinity for art. She took it up for lack of having a true female figure in her life. Her performance in school was average, and given that she needed to learn English a bit better, she tried to use fashion as something instead of being laughed at for her Chinese accent. Her grandmother would teach her how to sew, and she would show an affinity for it. As time progressed, her designs became more and more elegant and it looked like something the average person would wear, to even something a celebrity would wear. Her father was able to acquire her an internship with the proclaimed English fashion brand, Blueberry (parodying Burberry here), and she developed her own independent brand name. So it's probably fashion that got her into Mr. Vargas's school. Now if only she could maintain and hope she doesn't get peeved at the lack of brand-name stores on the island. HOBBIES: - Fashion Design: It's one of her talents. She happens to be designing her own brand. - Theatre: She's an amateur at acting. Not professional, but she enjoys acting in plays. It's just awesome. - Photography: Hurr hurr, she seems to enjoy catching... questionable moments. - Chats with her Brother: Heart to heart, yo! - Tai Chi: She happens to find this exercise relaxing. - Self Defense: Though not Bruce Lee status, she could easily defend herself from other people, especially guys. She'll kick your arse, yo. - Graphic Design: She loves designing and redesigning her clothing brand webpage. People are attracted to shiny pages. by rimy ♥ of btn! |
