NATIONALITY: Hungarian PERSONALITY INFORMATION POSITIVE: Thoughtful: Lizzie spends a great deal of her time with her best friend (and the love of her life) Roderich. She has been known to make little gestures of kindness for him at the most random times. Boxed lunches, sweets, gifts, and time spent together are not out of the question, and have all had their turn. Strong: Elizaveta spends a great deal of time “torturing the sword” so to speak. She is an excellent fencer, due mostly to the fact that she was once teased that she would never be able to since she was female. Gilbert has never spoken of that incident since. Soft-hearted: Despite the fact that she is a strong woman who can wield a sword with little issue, Liz adores cute, cuddly things. She can’t sleep at night unless she is cuddling a particular stuffed animal, given to her by her dearest friend Motherly/Big Sisterly: If she can’t be near Roderich, Lizzie enjoys playing big sister to the younger students. She likes to feel helpful if at all possible. Something as simple as teaching an equation to a student who is struggling, or helping a younger girl with her boy problems makes her quite happy. Loyal: When she pledges herself to someone, nothing will change her mind. Discerning: As proved by the object of her affections, Lizzie has exceptionally good judgment of character and talent. She has an appreciation of the finer things in life even though she is generally happy with the simplest. NEGATIVE: Determined, stubborn, and/or feisty: When she sets her mind to something, it’s best to let her go. If you get in the way, you will only be hurt mentally or physically. Proud: She will avoid asking for help at all costs. Lizzie would rather watch herself crumble than admit that she needs someone else’s help, unless, of course, the help comes from Roderich. Skeptical: Being quite the realist, Lizzie has trouble believing in the “fantastic.” She has always been the type who needed to see or hear it herself before she would believe it. She is not afraid of the “supernatural” though she doesn't find much of that hoopla possible. Foul mouthed: When she loses her temper, sparks (and some rather unpleasant words) fly. Though it’s rare for her to get angry enough to utter curses, it has happened. Most would be wise to leave her alone when she gets to that point though. Absent minded: At times Lizzie will find herself lost in her surroundings. While not typically so, she can be rather forgetful. She generally gets lost in her thoughts while studying or practicing music. Easily frustrated: When she can’t find the answer quickly, Lizzie begins to break down. Even something as simple as a math problem can send her into a fit of aggravation. She generally has to walk away from the source of her frustration and work on something else before she can focus on the problem at hand. Born to unidentified parents, she was discovered outside the Hédervár Catholic church. She was baptized Elizaveta after Saint Elizabeth, and given the surname Héderváry after the city. Though two of the Church Sisters wanted to raise her, the Head Mother suggested that she be given the opportunity to be raised in a loving family. Her first four years of life were spent in the church orphanage, and during those years she began exhibiting behavior much older than her years. She often looked after the other children, taking care of them and showing everyone as much love as her little heart could. After her fourth birthday a kind family from a small farm outside of Balatonkenese arrived at the orphanage. As they couldn’t have children of their own they began searching for a young boy to love and teach, as well as help with the work. Upon their arrival little Lizzie welcomed them in to the orphanage and acting like the best little hostess she could be, made them tea and biscuits. Though the family was somewhat poor and only had the money to adopt one child, they knew she needed them as much as they needed her. When the young boy arrived to visit them, they were in a moderate panic. Both children were perfect for the couple. Thankfully, the Head Mother and the two Sisters who found Lizzie knew that this was the answer to their prayers for her. They hugged her tightly and told her to have strength like Saint Elizabeth on her new journey. Elizaveta and her new “brother” Józsua made the long trip back to a small farm outside the little town of Balatonkenese. Both children joined the family quickly, and learned the ropes of the farm early on. They fed the chickens and gathered eggs. Lizzie preferred feeding the horses. She would spend hours outside petting their noses and feeding them fallen apples from the trees. Her father, after noticing how well she interacted with them, decided that it was time for her to try riding. To say she was ecstatic doesn’t come close. After that first day she was hooked. Every day Elizaveta dedicated some of her time to riding and training the family’s horses. Eventually the family opened up the farm, allowing Lizzie to teach riding lessons. Her kindness with the animals was unmatched, and her directions for the riders were flawless. She really had a knack for this type of lifestyle. While teaching riding lessons, she met several interesting people, including a man who taught her how to sword fight! In exchange for riding lessons, he taught her fencing, which she excelled at immediately. At the age of twelve she could best grown men. Her notoriety grew as she did. At the age of thirteen she was able to fence on horseback, and when she turned fourteen she was approached by a man by the name of Vargas. He asked her to attend his school for gifted students. She turned him down based on the fact that she would have to leave her home, and that she couldn’t afford tuition. He pursued her again just before the term started for her first year. This time, with promises that her tuition was paid by an anonymous donor, she relented.
